  1. Katniss thought her hopes of winning the Hunger Games was low becuase she knew that she wasn't the strongest or the fastest. She new that 1 of the "Career Tributes" from the lower districts would win becuase they have been training for this even their whole lifes and are therefor more prepaired for it then her. She calls them "Career Tributes" becuase they have been training for this and it has become almost like a job for them. Also she thought her chances were low becuase she would not be getting as many sponsers as the tributes becuase they are from the richers districts and have more the give then her District 12 which is fairly poor.

  2. Katniss's hopes were low because she knew that Districts 1-4 usally had people known as "Career Tributes" who train thier whole lifes to participate in the games. Also there has only been one other winner from district 12, Haymitch and he is there mentor. The only thing wrong with Haymitch is that he is drunk all the time

  3. Katniss beleived her hopes of winning were low because she knew out of all the possible contestants, she was one of the weakest/slowest of the chosen. The "Career Tributes" (which are primarily from districts 1-4) train and practice daily to be a strong factor if they were to be chosen to participate in the games. There has been one distric 12 winner that has beat the odds in the past. His name is Haymitch, and acts like a mentor for the chosen participants from distric 12. He isnt that great of a mentor on one hand, as he is almost always drunk, therefore not a huge help for Katniss.

  4. Katniss believed her hopes of winning were low because she already knows that she is not the strongest or one of the fastest. She also knew that people who were known as "Career Tributes" were going to be participating. Career Tributes are people who some, have been training their whole life, so she knew the competition would be challenging.
